This Writer’s Wallet began in April 2007, when GradGirl (I) was looking for my first big job. Back then, I wrote a lot about job-hunting, interviewing and grad school.
In June, I landed said job and love it. As soon as I started getting paychecks, I started thinking about what my financial priorities were (FYI: I now recommend doing this before one starts getting larger paychecks). A study on Biblical finance shaped my future budget, encouraging me to use money for things that matter.
Yes, I’m 25 and live with my parents. But they’re really great people, and I’m saving a ton of money.
Other info: I used to be a freelancer, I once was a publishing intern, and I still am a big fan of higher education.
Thursdays, I usually write about food–I’m a big, big, fan of food. I also love to travel (I Heart Boston), and, someday, I might like to own my own home, which is why I’m saving towards a downpayment.
