Additional Income: September 2008
This month has FLOWN by for me, and, thankfully, that doesn’t mean my additional-income plans took a backseat to other life activities. Here’s the breakdown, in approximations to make it easy:
Work bonus: $300
Blogging: $120
= TOTAL $420 additional income for September.

IN THE WORKS:
1) Applied for a freelancing gig (received a follow-up e-mail on 9/2, so we’ll see where that goes)
2) Listed my old Blackberry (who can believe I have an old Blackberry) on eBay; got a buyer; he never paid; tried a second-chance offer; no response
3) Looked into more monetization options for this blog; didn’t get anywhere
4) Contributed at work, in keeping with my promised bonus–I’m expecting to receive the first pay-out Friday
Total additional income: $15, with several things in the works. Here’s hoping next month is better!

Time for my monthly update on additional income. For July, I didn’t work too hard at this goal, at least not in terms of immediate rewards. I had some payouts ($22) from old Pay Per Posts I did, but I never got to the eBay selling I planned for. My leather bag, my bags of unused yarn, the now-old Blackberry–they’re all sitting, ready to be listed. Let’s hope I force myself before August is over and I’m another year older. (yes, that’s right. a birthday is coming)
What I did accomplish, however, may potentially have long-term benefits:
*Campaigning for the raise that turned into a monthly bonus, beginning in August
*Starting a new project, the one I’m so excited about, that may not yield financial benefits to begin but will be a stepping stone, I feel sure
*(Didn’t accomplish, per se) Received a new Blackberry, which I was just reimbursed for, valued at $240 on eBay

I decided at the end of last month to start looking at my income differently, to start finding ways to bring in alternative income. Here are the results of my first month with this attitude:
$125, Payment for guest-speaking in May
$500, Selling my camera on eBay

TOTAL: $668
WHERE IT WENT: $500 to Cali fund; the rest to down-payment fund, which I’ve become a little more serious about
