Saturday Round-Up

September 14th, 2008

Oh I have had a week, friends. Thank goodness for Saturdays. Really. As scheduled, here are some articles I enjoyed this week:

  • Easiest Way to Get Your Credit Score Free: FYI my credit score in February was 760, and last night it was 704, according to Credit Karma, which this article highlights. WHAT IN THE WORLD. I guess it’s good I’m not looking to get a loan. Thoughts/advice?
  • The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. - Edmund Burke (1729-1797)  (I completely agree!) This quote, and others like it, can be found at this quotable round-up by Broke-Ass Student
  • How Your Government Works: Your Local City or Town: I really think, if I could do it all over again, I’d enjoy history class so much more now than I did in high school. How did I get through and yet manage to now be confused about how our entire political system works?
  • Like me, MFA or Bust uses Mint.com and she made me laugh out loud with how it categorized something. These common errors, no biggie, are really my only complaint with Mint. Great service–and FREE!
  • Have thoughts on debt? Check out Green Panda Treehouse’s very interesting article, The Stigma of Debt is Gone, but not the Sting
