That's a really good idea, to plan what you're going to wear in advance. I've been wanting to take pictures with a digital camera of all the outfit combinations that I can make, and then sort them somehow in a folder on my computer. So instead of trying to figure out what to wear each morning, I can go to my computer and pull out a picture. It seems silly, but it just might work! :)

I just went and looked at well-heeled's blog regarding the clothes fast. (Had to run away quickly-- I'm from the planet 180 degrees away from the person who has 32 pairs of jeans in her closet, after all.)

I just did something worthwhile with my t-shirts. I went through them all, dumped the ones that are ratty, then kept out 3 black t-shirts, 3 colorful ones, and 2 that are ratty and paint stained (for working on the house). Then I put the rest into a rubbermade box out in the garage. My theory is, if these are all the t-shirts I have available, I'll wear them. And when they get worn out, I can go "shop" in the box for a new one.

It's kind of different for fashion-prone things like skirts and pants and jackets, but I think it's an idea that can work for anything someone tends to buy too many of.
