Craigslist

December 1st, 2007

Is there anyone who doesn’t love Craigslist? It’s an invaluable resource for me, where I’ve found:

1) My job
2) My employees and freelancers
3) Potential apartments (still in progress)
4) A renter for someone else

Just recently I’ve been touring the free stuff section. Fun! If you’re ever moving, do check it out; I see boxes posted on a weekly basis.

Do you Craigslist? Why?

StumbleUpon It!

Craigslist — what would my life be WITHOUT craigslist? I’ve found my jobs, my apartment, furniture, friends, auditions, and even a boyfriend on CL.

… in response to your post on my site… it’s a bit sad to be misquoted but as a journalist myself I understand when quotes are shortened to fit into an article. It might not even have been the writer who changed it, lots of times an editor mucks around with quotes. I feel ok now that I wrote a response on the article page noting what I really meant. Sure, not everyone will get as far as reading the response, but the important thing is that the companies see it. I know they’ve all read what I’ve written about personal finance software before, I don’t need them thinking that I’m so fickle. (response comment also posted in my blog.)

I love craigslist! I found my basement suite on it, my TV, a ricecooker, and gave away a dresser and sofa on it under the Free Section. I find myself just going on it to scout for deals, or even other places. I do find that it’s a lot of competition, especially if the deal is great (ie. finding/renting out a place), you get like 100+ e-mails.

    It’s awesome.

I found a free blender through Craigslist and the person lived only a few doors down from me! what an awesome perk!

And recently I checked the “wanted” section of Craigslist and unloaded my extra Sprint phone for an extra $5 more than I paid. The free section would be even better if I could find a toaster to replace the non-functioning one in my apartment.
