It was driving me nuts for 2 weeks. I went to my chiropractor because my back had gotten a little twisted and one leg was functionally longer than the other (I digress.) Basically I mentioned the ankle pain, he yanked on it a couple of ways, it popped and he said "good". Suddenly I could walk again. It went back out that night, I went back two days later and he did it again. All better now. I'm playing softball again no problems aside from the extra person I'm carrying around. Stupid extra person. Same thing happened to me. the pain was just on the top of the inside of my ankle. It was driving me nuts for 2 weeks.
