Redbook

September 19th, 2007

Last month and this month, I’ve received Redbook Magazine in the mail. I never ordered it; it’s not my kind of thing. Anyone have an idea why it’s coming to me?

    My best guesses:

    1. Some magazines have to maintain a certain volume (circulation) to satisfy their obligations to advertisers. If this means giving it away for free, so be it.

    or

    2. Maybe they think you will get hooked after a few and start buying when they stop sending for free.

Good thinking–that would make sense, I guess. How weird. I wonder how they got my info.
