free stuff

What is the coolest thing you’ve ever gotten for free? I’m curious.
This weekend, for me, it was a free movie pass. We went to see the Bourne Ultimatum (great, by the way!) at the Saturday matinée for $5. The theater couldn’t get the movie to play, so they gave all of us a free voucher and directed us to another screen in the building. Saw BU for $5 and now have a ticket to see any movie, any time, for free.

Once I got a new power supply for my computer. It was one of those “free with a mail-in rebate!” deals, which always seemed too good to be true. However, I really did get my rebate in a few weeks.
This weekend I got some free vegetarian rolls. My husband and I were at a high end mall in SF and I was curious about one of the restaurants in the mall. I went in to look at the menu and one of the waiter’s apologetically told me they were closed and then he offered me a to go box of 6 Vietnamese rolls. Yummy!
I got three Balance breakfast bars for free on my way to work this morning…they had people out by Grand Central handing out free samples.
Hmm, coolest thing I’ve gotten for free? Once I worked for a promotional company and they gave me a stack of free movie passes (I treated myself and my friends to as many movies as we could go to for an entire year, and still wasn’t out of passes!) … they also gave me 300 tins of Altoid mints.
Weird, but cool free thing to give me.
Free underwear from Victoria’s Secret! I love to just bring in the little voucher and walk out with a pair of cotton underwear. About half of my underwear was acquired that way. Sometimes I do use the $10 coupon attached to the voucher…now they’re getting wise and you have to purchase something to get the free panties….
SD: I know–I love those! I read an article about how a lot of people feel like they should buy something when they have a coupon like that. Not me!!
Krystal: That is, by far, the coolest free thing. Unlimited free movies!? So jealous.
EM: Awesome! I love free samples!
CalGirl: One time, I was at Panera just before closing and they let me have a bunch of bagels. They were just giving them away, and they didn’t mind. It was great.
